in Hand arbeiten.

The soundtrack to a show full of energy and emotions
The guests who leave the historic mirror tent Salon Zazou around midnight usually
still have the beat of the evening from Pomp Duck and Circumstance in their ears. Like
after a thrilling movie, they remember their favorite scenes, and immediately there's
the music again, which is inseparable from the show because it's tailor-made for each
artist like their costume. The composer Rudi Mauser stands for sounds that cannot be
squeezed into any grid: limitless variety and the virtuosic play with all conceivable
genres. The music of the pomp professionals doesn't want to organize itself or hide
in the orchestra pit. She is respectfully idiosyncratic and multicultural by conviction.
It's no coincidence that the "Sinn architect" and father of pomp Hans-Peter Wodarz and
the musical director Rudi Mauser have been working hand in hand for more than a decade.
Creative friendships are only resilient over such a period of time if the artistic
foundation is the same. And here, apparently, two have the same soundboard. Because
the composer manages the balancing act between creative freedom and the harmonic
support of a dramaturgy that changes tempo, color and volume within minutes. The
performance of the artists, who give their all on stage night after night, must be
sensitively accompanied, underlined and accentuated. It goes without saying that simple
carpets of sound would be ignored here. Pomp is a holistic concept and therefore also
a total work of art: In the unique historical mirror tent, each individual, from actors
to singers, artists and musicians to the kitchen, service and backstage crew do their
best. And like the Elements and the people who make the Pomp project live every day,
Rudi Mauser's music fits in precisely because it stands for itself without wanting to
stand out on its own. She is neither afraid of loud jokes nor of quiet romance. This
self-confidence is symbolic of Hans-Peter Wodarz' Pomp Duck and Circumstance.
"What enables me to write music are pictures and their stories" - Rudi Mauser
His career from so-called sideman to "world musician" and composer is anything
but ordinary: As the third child and "enfant terrible" of a family of classical
musicians, Rudi Mauser first completed training as a double bass player at the
Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, but very quickly gained his discovered a
passion for all types and forms of classical music. He decided to leave the
traditional path and let his passion run free. He has played with the likes of Taj
Mahal, Sally Oldfield, Ron Williams, Lisa Fitz and most notably Eartha Kitt. A happy
coincidence brought him to film music and thus to composing. Long since reconciled
with classical music, Rudi Mauser now works for film, television and theater: "What
enables me to write music are pictures and their stories", with this statement, which
is unusual for a composer, he explains his sensual music, who know how to harmoniously
combine it with the visual moment and underline its reflection. For Rudi Mauser, music
is a language whose syllables are warmth, intelligence, romance and longing.
The Quacktones
The band of top international musicians accompanies every moment of the show with
verve, from the "soup" to the trapeze act to the crazy showdown — four hours of
world-class live music.
"Only those who change remain true to themselves" - Hans-Peter Wodarz
It is part of POMP's philosophy that the history and the music of the totally
over-the-top restaurant theater is constantly being updated.

For anyone who gets this far...
When all is said and done, one person is left who deserves mention here.
Very special thanks, then, to Hans-Peter Wodarz for unfailing confidence and
support over more than 10 years of collaboration... and looking forward to many
more to come.
