Costumes & Characters
Costume designer Philippe Guillotel discovered that Broadway is different
from circus or ballet costumes, "with which I try to define a strong universe
and the characters that inhabit that universe in an original, and even
exaggerated, manner," he says. "This time, for this show, I had to apply
myself to create costumes that were more from everyday life, in service to
the narration."
Guillotel found he had to rein in his creativity, he says, "in order to be
sure to more deeply define the psychology of each of these characters, while
providing costumes that did not limit the actors and singers in their specific
actions at specific moments, so that the audience would recognize themselves
in them."
AJ Golden (Director)
"He's the best director in the whole damn biz!"
A brilliant brute. Supremely confident, supremely arrogant. Able
to charm, able to chill. Like all the great Hollywood directors, he's a kind
of magician, and he'll do anything, say anything, to get the next
great shot.
Indigo James (Singer)
"I know that I am destined for something more."
One name says it all. She doesn't sing to live, she live to sing. A
natural talent, as strong and beautiful as any thoroughbred. And she's
got a whole lot of that "little something extra" that makes a star.
Joey Green (Songwriter)
"I dreamed of melodies, lived only for these keys, but there's
another tune to play."
Effortlessly gifted at the keyboard. Utterly tongue-tied with the
ladies. In other words, ripe for love, destined for heartbreak, and
absolutely willing to make the greatest sacrifice a man can make.
