A blend of the traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances, Dralions, as reworked by
Cirque du Soleil, takes on new scope here. In a dynamic and energetic tumbling sequence,
the artists come on stage on wooden balls which they roll under their feet and on which
they perform somersaults. Five dralions perform acrobatics around them.
A signature of Chinese circus, the Dralions make
their appearance. Presented as a blend of the
more traditional dragon and lion dances, the
Dralions - half dragon, half lion creatures -
take over and performe some of the best feats
of precision anywhere. In a dynamic and
energetic tumbling sequence, three artists come
on stage on wooden balls which they roll under
their feet and perform somersaults on. The signature
of the performance is when the five Dralions climb
on one single wooden ball and, by working together, must
get the ball from one end of a teeterboard to the next!
The Dralions act features a song not found on the soundtrack CD. The
frolicking fiddle solos, the harmonically filtered synthesizer bass
melody, and the upbeat cadence gives the song as playful of a feel as
the cuddly Dralion creatures romping onstage.
