With amazing strength and fearlessness, this team of talented acrobats
performs atop a floating raft in the Barge act. The core group is comprised of
eight world champion women with a background of sport acrobatics. Their act
combines inventive gymnastic performances with the traditional circus act of
banquine and the balletic prowess of adagio. Blending these skills with water
completes this high-energy act, which also includes synchronized swimmers and
Olympic divers.
Castaways or Survivors? Shipwrecked or rescued? Lost or saved? Adrift in a
sea of madness on an isolated barge, as celestial castaways build transient
pulsating towers to the heavens, clambering their way to where instinct meets
reason and where love meets fear, we realize the only possible answer to these
question is "yes".
Did you know the Barge is made of Nida Core, Fiberglass and Mondo? Seven
Divers maneuver it into place and it can hold 20 performers. The platform is
equipped with 14 breathing stations on its underside.
A new version of the act, entitled "The Island" or "Barge 2.0" was integrated
into the show in mid-June 2023, as a more Banquine-focused performance. An injury
ocurred a few days later (on June 28, 2023), which resulted in the entire act
to be removed for five months. As of November 26, 2023, Barge has returned to "O".
