For a short period, the manipulation act gave way to a couple
(dressed similarly to the central Romeo and Miranda) who performed a
static trapeze act. Acrobatically similar to the first portion of the
duo trapeze acts seen in both Saltimbanco and «O», this slow-paced,
choreographed performance displayed a wonderful representation of the
lovers’ turmoil, strength, and love. Breaking through the couple’s
entanglement came the thousand arms act — Miranda and Romeo’s next
challenge.
