None.
The Hoops act was brought to Quidam due to a performance shuffle brought about by the
conception of Varekai, Cirque du Soleil's 13th production, which premiered in April 2002.
Olga Pikhienko, who originated and performed the Handbalancing act in Quidam, was leaving
to perform in Varekai. This left a space in the Quidam roster to be filled. And thus Elena
Lev left Alegría during its Asia/Pacific run (2001-2002) and joined Quidam during its second
North American Tour (2002) bringing her famous Hoops act. This act, which replaced the
mainstay Handbalancing act, was virtually the same act performed in Alegría, with a couple
of exceptions. First, Elena Lev wore the costuming themed for Quidam and performed her act
to the more up-tempo Handbalancing song. At the end of the Second North American Tour
(Dec 2002), Elena Lev left Quidam and the Handbalancing act was returned to the show
with a different performer.
